Taking your own profile pic is so awkward :-)

You should have seen me, I had my camera set up on the tripod (could not find my remote trigger), running back and forth, trying to fling my hair like a Kardashian, whilst on timer to get this shot. Then I had to edit my own face, not fun at all.

But I digress…

I am eager to share with you about who I am. I know you’re about to put a lot of trust into me as a person and a photographer, and my goal is to give you as much insight and information about me as I can.

My world spins around my sons, and yes, having four of them can make me dizzy for sure. My life is relative organised chaos, a whole lot of love and a huge amount of yelling “Get down from there”.

I could be typical and write about how much I love coffee and Netflix, but the real me loves John Farnham, Steve Irwin, Star Trek (the original series), owns the first 10 seasons of Blue Heelers on DVD (and watches them at least every second year), can quote random Red Dwarf lines at her husband, loves the MCU over the DCU and is such a nerd that I can understand every science based or nerd based joke from The Big Band Theory.

And when you meet me you’d never guess any of it….. gah…and I’m obsessed with the Keeping up with the Kardashians. There! I said it!

In all honesty, writing about myself is a bit of a challenge. I could write novels on each of my sons, my husband and everyone else I know, but what I am coming to realise is that I am a very proud small business owner, passionate newborn photographer and mum.

My work started as a hobby and has now become a huge part of my identity and an absolute passion. Photography has given me a meaningful creative outlet that I had been looking for for so long. And combining this with a love of working with children and families has created my perfect career.

These are my boys (and my fur-baby)…

I do also have a wonderful husband hiding away, I so have to take a note out of my website and book in to have my own family photography session.

They do look lovely all cleaned up and smiling. They love me like no other, they test me like no other but I’d never have it any other way. Although thank goodness my youngest is finally at school, he would not have survived another year at home.

I have Sean (my first highschooler) who is 14. He is the responsible one. Connor in Year 7 who is about to turn 13. He is definitely the laid back one. Ryder in Grade 5 and is 11. He is the one that won’t miss out on a thing. And my baby boy Ted is 7 and is iin Grade 2. He gets away with murder (well he is just so freakin’ cute). They are all such different kids. Not one of their personalities is like the other. What works for one, doesn’t work for the other. But when their are not arguing over who is looking at who, they are fiercely loyal brothers.

Im pretty smitten with our newest family member, our standard Groodle, Tess. She is literally double the size now, she was about four months old here. She is my editing companion and replacement child while the boys are at school. When she is not outside making mud puddles, she is right here under my desk, snoring away.

It has been a very large transition for me recently with having all of my boys now at school. It is very exciting for me to have more time to grow my buisness and work when I want to (during daylight hours is such a bonus). I love that my career gives me the opportunity to use all of my mothering skills I have learned over the last 14 years.

I love cuddling baby’s, wrapping them up ready to sleep, settling them when the world gets to much and then posing them into the most comfy, adorable positions to photograph them in. I definitely speak the language of the toddler, you will just have to see it to believe it. Older children just love to be treated that way, as the older child. Give them the responsibility for something, and they just have a great time during my sessions. And that is where you get to relax and realise, ‘yes! this was a great decision to have a professional photography session’.
